Carlota L. Arauz, 76, of Lancaster, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Lancaster General Hospital.

Born in Guayaquil, Ecuador, she was the daughter of the late Pedro Naranjo and Mercedes Concha-Naranjo. She is the wife of Miguel Arauz.

Carlota was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. Originally from Ecuador, she came to the United States at the age of 24 in pursuit of a better life. She worked as a package inspector at Dart Containers and was a proud and devoted member of San Juan Bautista Church for over 25 years. Carlota had an incredible gift for cooking and shared it joyfully with others. She was known for preparing meals for family, friends, and community events. For years, she cooked for the San Juan Bautista festival and was always the one to organize holidays and special occasions for the people in her life. Her dedication extended beyond the kitchen—she helped coordinate Ecuador Independence Day celebrations in Lancaster. Carlota was a fighter with a huge heart. She was the kind of person who would help anyone in need and never had a bad word to say about anyone. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering support touched everyone she met. She will be remembered not only for her generosity and strength but for the deep love she gave as a mother, grandmother, and friend.

She is survived by her children, Sara Baquerizo, Euclides Alberto Baquerizo, Euclides Leonardo Baquerizo, and Lilliana de Lourdes Baquerizo; her siblings, Teresita, Lecibel, Mariana, Lupe, Isabel, Catalino, Sergio, Pedro, Julia, and Mechita Naranjo.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Mercedes, Rosa, Guillermina, Juan, Francisco, and Juanito Naranjo.

Friends and family will be received from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday, May 29, 2025, and again from 10am to 1pm on Friday, May 30, 2025, both at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King Street, Lancaster, PA 17602. A Funeral Service will begin at 12PM on Friday, May 30, 2025. Burial will follow at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery.
