IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carla Jean
Jankowski
January 1, 2026
Carla Jean Jankowski, 48, of Leola, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 1, 2026, after a brief illness, at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital, with her loving family by her side. Born in Madison, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of David Flesch and the late Joan McKenna Flesch. Carla was the loving companion of Mark Capuano for six years. She was the proud mother to her boys, Luke R. and Kyle M. Jankowski. They were more important than anything.
Carla worked for the Vanguard Group and for over a career of 26 years, she took on various roles within the company. She was a proud graduate of Mansfield High School and continued her education at Mansfield University obtaining a bachelor's degree. After College, Carla found her purpose in life. She fell in love with fitness who was an avid marathon runner who recently completed a half marathon this past October. She had a "passion for fashion" and loved being able to show her personality through her style. Animals, traveling, spending time at the lake and book clubs were other interests that held a place in her heart. Carla's spirit was gentle but nothing short of vibrant. A mother figure to most her nurturing and welcoming spirit made everyone feel at ease when around her. Carla loved nothing more than her family and friends and the memories they carry of Carla will remain with them forever.
Surviving in addition to her dad, David, companion Mark, and boys Kyle and Luke, is the father of the boys, Jim Jankowski. Also surviving are sisters, Amy wife of Kurt Doolittle, Gail Franco and nephews and nieces, Lindsey, Justin, Harlow, and Claire, as well as many extended family and friends.
