Carl R. Heckert. Sr., 90, of York, passed away peacefully at Providence Place on January 14, 2025. Born in York, he was the son of the late Russel and Leona (Lightner) Heckert.

Carl worked as a supervisor for Caterpillar in York until his retirement in 1996. He also served honorably in the US Army, serving in the military police in the 50s. Carl's main passions were hunting and fishing, but he enjoyed any time spent in the mountains. He was known to love scratch off tickets, an ice-cold beer, and gambling. Most of all, Carl cherished spending time with his grandkids. He was a member of the Shiloh Legion and the Hawks Gunning Club.

Carl is survived by 2 children: Carl R. Heckert, Jr. (Amanda) and Connie A. Heckert, and 3 grandsons: Richard Bass, Jr., Kyle Heckert, and Benjamin Heckert.
