Bruce W. Wardrop, 52, of 430 N. Pine St., Lancaster passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 19 th .
He was the husband of Teresa M. Husband Wardrop, with whom he celebrated 26 years of marriage on September 12 th . Born in Lancaster, Bruce was the son of Hector Wardrop of West Haven, UT and Pauline Austin Wardrop of Elizabethtown.
Bruce had worked for Yale Electric Co. of Lancaster for the last 2 ½ years. He had previously worked for AutoKraft Box Co., the Intelligencer Printing Co. for over 20 years, and Royer Hardware in Centerville.
He liked racing, particularly micro-sprint cars, was very mechanical, and loved to grill. He enjoyed taking drives in the fall when the seasons and colors began to change, and had a zest for life and the people that surrounded him. His family was of great importance to him, especially his grandchildren.
Bruce was formerly a member of Donegal Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his wife and parents, Bruce is survived by: a son, Mark E. Wardrop of Lancaster; a daughter, Marie E. Wardrop fiancée of Christopher Anderson of Lancaster; and 3 grandchildren: Cameron Wardrop-Sanchez, Destiny Anderson, and Olivia Anderson. He is also survived by 2 brothers, David of Roy, UT and Michael of West Haven, UT. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Bill Badders.
Friends will be received on Saturday from 1030AM-12Noon at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home and Chapel, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA, with the funeral service to follow at 12Noon, the Rev. Jerry Carr officiating. Bruce would want everyone who would come to the service to come as they are, dressed casually, and his family asks that this be kept in mind to honor Bruce's special request. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to St Jude's Children Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to a charity of one's choice.
