Bruce A. Johnson, 77, of Mount Joy, passed away on March 17, 2024.

Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Edwin and Catherin Loechner Johnson..

He had worked for PP& L Electric Utility Corporation as a meter reader for several years. He had also worked in several warehouses for various Lancaster companies.

Bruce was a US Army veteran, serving as a SP4 during the Vietnam War, where he was a M60 machine gunner. He was the recipient of the Combat Infantry Badge, the Purple Heart with an Oak Leaf Cluster, the Army Commendation Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Medal with Palm Attachment and a Meritorious Unit Citation.

He was a JP McCaskey High School graduate where he was very athletic.

Bruce loved to spend time with his dog, Sport, a Jack Russell Terrier.

He is survived by his siblings: Pam married to Rick Minnich of Manheim and Jim married to Lois Johnson of Lancaster, and his half-brother, Eric Johnson.

Bruce will be interred at a private family gathering in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at a later time.
