Bonnie Lou Glassmoyer, 60, of Willow Street, was raised by the loving hand of the Lord, with God, free from pain, after a courageous battle against cancer for 21 years. On Sunday the 5 th of September, the world became a little poorer, and Heaven became a whole lot richer.
She was the wife of Walter I. "Bud" Glassmoyer with whom she would have celebrated their 43 rd anniversary on October 17 th . She was born in Lancaster, December 8, 1949. Bonnie was the daughter of the late Lester W. Sr. and Joy B. Sapp.
Bonnie retired from Conestoga Nursing Home after 34 years of service as a Nursing Aid and Unit Clerk on the 8 th floor. She was a member of Willow Street UCC Church and James Buchanan OES. From 1976-1984, Bonnie coached Willow Street Fillies Girls Softball Team. She loved to travel, spend time with her beloved grandchildren, Alissa and Blake Leed. Bonnie also enjoyed camping in Sullivan Co., and fishing anywhere there was water.
Surviving in addition to her husband Walter "Bud" Glassmoyer, she is survived by 2 children; Ann L. Leed of Millersville, and Walter "Wally" Glassmoyer IV companion of Albert LaCaasse Jr. of Lancaster. 2 grandchildren, Alissa and Blake Leed. A sister, Joyce Frey of Lancaster. 3 half-sisters, Donna Williams, Patty, and Sandy. And 2 half-brothers; Jack and Mike. And many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother Lester W. Sapp Jr., and half brothers, Richard Fulmer and Melvin Sapp.
A Funeral Service honoring the life of Bonnie will be held Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Conestoga View Chapel 900 E. King St. Lancaster 17602 at 11 a.m. Family and friends will be received at Conestoga View Chapel before the service from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. Interment will be private.
