Obituary

Only those at the skilled care center where Bonnie spent her final few years knew the secret. Although her friends and family knew her as Bonnie, her real name was Bonita, Spanish for beautiful. And that she was. Her stunning outer beauty was exceeded by her inner charm, compassion, and radiant love.

Bonnie shared a devotion with her husband to their Savior. She was married to Dr. Haddon W. Robinson whose notable ministry was buoyed by her encouragement and support. She was a prayer warrior, and even in her last days with a diminishing memory, she offered meaningful prayers for her children and the staff at Willow Valley. Bonnie was deeply committed to her faith, leading many to put their trust in Jesus Christ.

Bonnie was also a gifted investor–in people. Her greatest investments were in her family–her two children, Vicki Hitzges and Torrey Robinson (Sue) and their two sons, Carey (Lindsay) and Carl (Joanna). Her great grandson, Hudson William, will continue to be blessed by the love she poured into her family.

Bonnie was known for her hospitality. Her husband's students, neighbors and even her children's friends found her gracious and kind. She frequently entertained. Her children noted that when they were young, anytime they brought friends home unexpectedly, the house would be clean, their mother would be dressed beautifully, and their guests would be welcomed warmly.

Bonnie shared the gift of music in many ways. As a young wife and mother, she taught numerous students to play the piano, both at home and at schools in Dallas (ten students at five pianos!) Throughout the years, she enriched groups and church families with her gifted piano accompaniment. Click to watch a video of Precious Bonnie playing the piano.

Bonita – beautiful Bonnie – is survived by the many individuals whose lives were touched by her love, bolstered by her encouragement, and transformed by her unwavering faith. Bonnie is now Finally Home .
