Blanca E. (Ruiz) Musser, 65, of North Water Street, Lititz, PA, passed away after a long illness at Conestoga View on July 14, 2015. Born in Anasco, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Luis Alfonso Ruiz and Julia Cecelia Seguinot Ruiz. She is survived by her husband, John E. Musser and they celebrated their 8th wedding anniversary on February 27, 2007. Blanca graduated from Lancaster Bible College with a Bachelor's Degree in Christian Counseling and served the community in numerous ways. She was the first female Chaplain for the Lancaster City Police Department and worked as a Parole Officer and Court Translator in Lebanon, PA. She spent 12 years as a missionary in Puerto Rico and helped establish three churches, as well as a women's shelter in Puerto Rico. She played an active role in the development of the Latino Women's Professional Association, was involved with SACA, and the Lancaster Charter Schools for at risk youth. Over the years, she developed a passion for helping women with domestic violence. She was a social worker, specializing in Christian counseling at the Lancaster County Prison, helping women with their education and various needs. Mostly she will be remembered as an awesome Mom, who enjoyed reading, collecting bells, and listening to 50's music. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Esther Marie Gonzalez (Rosenberg), Frederick, MD and Luis A. Gonzalez Jr., husband of Ivelisse, Lititz, PA. Her grandchildren include, Elaiya A. Gonzalez, Long Island, NY, Hailey T., Caden M. and Gavin S. Rosenberg, all of Frederick, MD; two sisters, Nereida, wife of Lawrence Chiles, Philadelphia, PA, Elizabeth, wife of Ramiro DeJesus, Lancaster, PA; three brothers, Luis Ruiz, Jr., husband of Karen, Lititz, PA, David Ruiz, TN, and Francisco, husband of Karla Ruiz, GA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Blanca's Funeral Service from the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. with The Rev. Sam Smucker officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 A.M. until time of service and on Friday from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Pennsylvania Chapter, 2595 Interstate Drive, Suite 100, Harrisburg, Pa 17110 or The Worship Center, attn: Building Fund, 2384 New Holland Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601. The interment will be private.
