Bienvenido "Benny" Caban, 55, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on January 23, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Lares, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Evaristo and Maria Rosalina (Roman) Caban. Benny loved going for walks and talking to people. He enjoyed going shopping, eating his favorite foods and listening to Christian music. He was a member of Iglesia Casa de Bendicion. Benny is survived by his companion, Carol Diegel and her 6 children that he raised as his own. He was known as "Pop-Pop" to 14 grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Maria Witwer; a brother, Evaristo Caban, Jr. and 14 nieces & nephews. Benny was preceded in death by a sister, Edia Caban and a brother, Angel Caban. A viewing will take place from 10 AM-12 PM with a Funeral Service to follow at 12 PM on Monday, February 2, 2015 at First Spanish Assembly of God, 626 S. Duke Street, Lancaster, PA. Interment will take place at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Benny's memory to Iglesia Casa de Bendicion, 1865 Fruitville Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601.
