Bibi Jainab "Ada" Umar, 92, of Lancaster, passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at UPMC Lititz. Born in Berbice, Guyana, she was the daughter of the late Abdul Umar and Bibi Ameena, and the loving wife of the late Mohammed Husein.

Bibi, formerly of Adelphi, Berbice Guyana, was the owner and operator of a pastry shop. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, and enjoyed sewing, baking and playing cards with family and friends. She attended Lancaster First Assembly of God.

Bibi is survived by five children: Bibi Nisa and her husband Randass Bissoondyal of Lancaster; Shakir Husein and his wife Farida of Jacksonville, FL; Farida Dewar and her husband Stewart Smith of Lancaster; Bibi Zabeda and her husband Chamanlall Hariprashad of Orlanda, FL; and Nezam Hussein and his wife Marlene of Lancaster, PA. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren: Margaret, Steve, Mark, Pete, Matt, Chris, Natasha, Denis, Maurice, Imran, Raziah, Vani, Michelle, and Jeremy; 13 great-grandchildren: Kim, Josh, Ben, Elijah, Wyatt, Nadia, Kingston, Declan, Khalid, Nadia, Joel, Saga Ada, and Isaac; and 4 great-great-grandchildren: Natalie, Nicholas, Marley, and Milo.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, September 3, 2021, at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 North George Street, Millersville, PA. The family will receive guests for a viewing beginning at 1:00 pm, and the funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery, Lancaster, PA.
