IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Beverly Ann
Maxwell (Kilts)
January 4, 2024
Beverly Ann Maxwell (Kilts), 76, passed away on January 4, 2024, at Masonic Villages, Elizabethtown, PA, after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer's Disease. Born in Los Angeles, CA in 1948 to Richard and Doris Kilts (Shotzberger), Beverly would have preferred those who knew her to remember her as she was in her youth: full of lightness and laughter, beauty and generosity.
Beverly graduated from Hempfield High School in 1966. There she was part of the Majorettes, Color Guard, and their singing club.
She worked various jobs in her life, including at Hamilton Watch, waitressing, nurses aid at Masonic Villages, and the kitchen at Elizabethtown College. She enjoyed bowling as part of a league, earning a 500 Club pin with her team. In 1979-80 she was a cheerleader for Lancaster's professional basketball team, the Red Roses. She loved music and was known to play guitar and sing with friends and later with her grandchildren. She also played piano, was a huge fan of Elvis, and her favorite car was the Ford Mustang, old or new.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brothers Richard Kilts (Suzanne) and Samuel Kilts (Cynthia), daughters Bethena Haser-Bouder (James), Deborah Long (James), and Melissa Hershey (Mark), and grandchildren Hanna, Evan, David, Masyn, and Liam.
There will be a casual gathering for family and friends at the Long Memorial Methodist Church, 2660 Lititz Pike, Lancaster PA on Wednesday, January 10th at 12:30 pm, followed by the burial at 2:30. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Beverly's name to Masonic Charities and earmarked for the Compassionate Care or Helping Hands funds. www.masonicvillages.org/donate-now/
Family would like to acknowledge and thank all the staff at Masonic Villages who cared for Beverly in her final years. Thank you for the love, care, and music you brought to her life.
