Betty J. Young, 86, of Lancaster, passed away at Lancaster General Hospital on Monday, April 20, 2015. Betty was born in Lititz to the late Elmer and Eva (Kulp) Allison. Betty worked as a machine operator for the Morgan Paper Company of Lititz for over 40 years. Betty was of the Christian faith and was a devoted mother who cherished spending time with her family. Betty also enjoyed embroidery, quilting, and crocheting. Betty is survived by her son, Jacob M. Young, Jr., husband of Deborah, of Lancaster; 4 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 sisters: Ruth Diener and Loretta Sener, of Lititz. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Jay Young and 3 siblings: Robert Allison, Harold Allison, and Ann Burkholder. A Christian Prayer Service for Betty will be held at 11AM, on Monday, April 27, 2015 at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Conestoga Memorial Park.
