Betty L. Sheaffer, 76, of Brethren Village died Friday, Dec. 12, 2008 at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, MD. She was born in Ephrata, the daughter of the late Raymond and Elsie Sweigart Carpenter. Betty retired in1988 after 25 years of service at Woodstream Corp. She enjoyed the beach, reading and swimming with the gray mermaids at Brethren Village. She was a devoted fan of Elvis.

Surviving are three children; Robert E. Sheaffer, Cheryl A. Bachman, Marshall T. Sheaffer, six grandchildren, one great grandchild, three brothers: Jay, Glenn, Dale Carpenter and two sisters: Darlene Dohner, Patsy Beamesderfer.

Friends may greet the family at Village Garden Apartment Dining Room, 3111, Lititz Pike, Lititz, on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 from 2-4PM. Please omit flowers.
