Betty Ellen Johnson, 75, of East Petersburg, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Lancaster General Hospital.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Betty Wyatt. She was the wife of Robert "Bob" M. Tharp.

Betty and Bob were members of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church of East Petersburg for over 15 years. She was a former crossing guard in East Petersburg. She was soft spoken and loved her family more than anything.

Betty is survived by her husband, Robert "Bob" Tharp; and her son, Joseph Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her son, Keith Johnson.

Friends and family will be received from 10AM to 11AM on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1905 Broad St., East Petersburg, PA 17520. A memorial service will follow beginning at 11AM. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
