Betty J. DeGodt, 87, of Lancaster died Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at Hamilton Arms. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Earl Guiles and Edna Smith Dean. Betty was the Resident Hall Director at Millersville University for 13 years and retired in 1984, previously she worked for the Singer Company in sales and teaching.
In 1944-1945, she lived in Hawaii and worked at Pearl Harbor. She was a member of Central Manor Church of God, where she was involved with the prayer chain. Betty enjoyed painting and giving them as gifts.
Surviving is her daughter: Jaque Lynn DeGodt, New York, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by a son, John DeGodt, a brother and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 441 N. George Street, Millersville, Pa on Monday, October 13, 2008 at 1:00PM. Interment will follow in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects to the family from 12:00-1:00PM.
