Obituary

Bette W Schadt, 92, of Mountville, died Sunday, February 22, 2015, at Hospice & Community Care. She was born in Lancaster to the late Chester and Margaret (Long) Wissler. Bette's husband, Thomas Evans Schadt, Jr., died in 1979.

A graduate of J. P. McCaskey High School, she was a case worker at the PA State Welfare Office on Manor Street, Lancaster. Bette served as a US Navy WAVE as a Yeoman in the Philippines during WWII. She enjoyed swimming, reading, BINGO, the beach at Cape May and spoiling her granddaughter.

Bette is survived by her daughter, Tracy S. Martzall, companion of Crick Shomper of Manheim; granddaughter Jessica Leah Martzall of Boston, MA; sister Dorothy Kiehl of Lancaster and many nieces and nephews. Her daughter Sandra A. Brown and 3 sisters and 2 brothers preceded Bette in death.

Bette's family will greet friends from 2 to 3 PM, followed by a time of sharing at 3 PM, on Saturday, February 28, 2015, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Private interment in Reich's E.C. Cemetery, Marietta, PA. Please omit flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane League of Lancaster County, 2195 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA 17602.
