Bette Jean Hofferth, 93, of Lititz, passed away, December 14, 2017 at UPMC Pinnacle-Lititz. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Leona (Gibbs) Peters. She had worked for Indiana University as a secretary. She was a faithful member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Lititz Women's Club, the Town Club, Lancaster, she also served as her daughters' Girl Scout leader. Bette enjoyed playing games, like scrabble and bridge, she thoroughly enjoyed watching various sporting events on television, and especially rooting for her family's favorite teams. She married Wallace B. Hofferth on February 17, 1945; he passed away, August 30, 2009. She is survived by her loving daughters; Nancy Posey and husband Dick, Lititz, PA, Judy Lewandowski and husband Rich, Appomattox, VA, her grandchildren; Kristen Haase and husband Justin, Lauren Posey, Adrienne Posey, Adam Lewandowski and wife Stephanie, Ryan Lewandowski and wife Crystal, Amanda Lewandowski, four great-grandchildren; Ryan and Evan Haase, and Anna and Oliver Lewandowski, and her brother, Gilbert Goodwin. She was preceded in death by two brothers; Milton and Edward. Family and friends are respectfully invited to funeral services at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 21, 2017 at the Community Room at Luther Acres. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
