IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Beth
Pomerantz
August 19, 2013
Beth Pomerantz, 62, passed away on August 19, 2013, in her home surrounded by her loving family following a courageous eight-year-long battle with cancer. Born in Port Chester, New York, she was the daughter of Louise and the late Frank Pomerantz. She was the wife and best friend of David Ehrlich, with whom she would have celebrated her 28th anniversary in September. She was the loving mother of Philip and Sally. She is also survived by her brother Jerry Pomerantz of Santa Monica, CA and loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and her brother Alan. After graduating as the salutatorian of her Rye High School class, Beth earned a bachelor's degree from Brown University and two master's degrees from the University of Michigan. Later, she returned to school and received a certificate of paralegal studies. During her life, Beth worked as a consultant at the University of Michigan's Institute of Gerontology, as a computer information systems specialist in Detroit and Atlanta, and as a paralegal at Pennsylvania Utility Law Project in Harrisburg. In addition, she was employed as a copy editor for various publications, textbooks, and journals, but nothing escaped her love of proper grammar, including restaurant menus, letters from teachers, and roadside signs. Her favorite job, however, was being a stay-at-home mom and raising Philip and Sally. She enjoyed being involved with the things they loved and graciously volunteered her time with their Girl Scout and Cub Scout troops, Odyssey of the Mind teams, and elementary school newspaper. Beth had a strong involvement in the Jewish community. Twice, she traveled to and lived on kibbutzim in Israel and she was a member of Temple Beth El, Temple Beth El's Sisterhood, and a lifetime member of Hadassah. Beth was an avid reader and loved completing the New York Times crossword puzzle""she celebrated her 60th birthday by attending the American Crossword Puzzle Tournament in Brooklyn, NY. Beth saved things that were important to her. In minutes, she could find a term paper from high school or a postcard sent from a friend years in the past. More importantly, she cherished her friends and family and maintained close friendships from all stages of her life. Beth had a gentle soul, sweet smile, and positive attitude. We would like to thank Beth's family and friends for their support and kindness during Beth's final weeks. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. The family will receive visitors at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Beth El Cemetery immediately following the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Beth's memory to Temple Beth El, 1836 Rohrerstown Road, Lancaster, PA 17601 or the National Cancer Institute, Building 31 Room 11A-16, 9000 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, MD 20892
