Bernice (Groff) Shaeffer, 85, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at Hamilton Arms Center in Lancaster. Prior to moving to Hamilton Arms she resided with her daughter, Gynith Shaeffer in New Providence. She was the daughter of the late Francis Groff and Susan (Steffy) Groff, and was born in Vintage, PA.

Bernice raised her family in Lampeter and retired from Exide Corporation in Lampeter after many years of service. Bernice loved to watch UFC and Cops on TV. She also found great pleasure spending time with her "grandcats".

She is survived by her children, J. Donald Shaeffer, Jr., of Millersville, PA, Gynith Shaeffer of New Providence, PA and David Shaeffer of San Diego, CA. She is also survived by one granddaughter, Abigail Shaeffer. The youngest of 7 children, she was predeceased by all of her siblings, Beatrice (Groff) Adams, Helen (Groff) Stanley, Arlene (Groff) Rice, Susan (Groff) McClure, John Groff and George Groff.

A graveside service will be planned at a later date.
