Basilisa DeJesus Rivera, 75, of Lancaster passed away Monday, July 25, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Cayey, Puerto Rico she was the daughter of the late Alejandro and Alejandriana DeJesus Rivera. Basilisa owned and operated the former La Reina grocery store in Lancaster. She enjoyed cooking and playing dominos. Basilisa is survived by her children, Daniel companion of Tita, Alberto Alvarado, Aminta Alvarado, Luz Nereida Sylvente and Jaime Martinez who passed away; 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 5 sisters: Eva, Rosa, Virgen, Carmen L., Raquel; 5 brothers, Artemio, Jacob, David, Juan and Avelino. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers. Funeral Services will be held at 11AM on Friday, July 29, 2016 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St, Lancaster, PA 17602. A viewing will be held from 7-9PM on Thursday and again on Friday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment in Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery.
