Barry, 60, of Manheim, died on November 26, 2015 at Lancashire Hall. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Earl & Gladys Mellinger. Barry attended special classes at Conestoga Valley School. He worked at Occupational Development Center for 43 years beginning at age 17. Barry lived with Friendship Community Center for 28 years. He was an avid bowler, winning many medals with Special Olympics. He was an avid swimmer; loved to go to Rehoboth Beach and swim in the ocean; loved to fish; Poster Child for the Lancaster Assoc. for Mentally Retarded Development Citizens. Barry attended Landisville Mennonite Church. He will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know his smile & wonderful sense of humor. Heartfelt gratitude to all those at Friendship Community for the wonderful care & attention they gave to Barry for all the years he lived there. Surviving are 3 siblings: Patricia A. Singleton, Sandra J. Herr & Harold E. Mellinger. A Memorial Service will be at 11 AM on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Friends will be received from 10:30-11 AM. No Flowers.
