Barbara Thanasas, 65, of San Juan, PR passed away at Lancaster General Hospital on Sunday, May 10, 2015. Barbara was born in San Juan to the late Adrian Negron and Maria Miranda. After earning her Bachelor's Degree in business, she went on to work as a clerk in medical billing. She was deeply religious and devoted to the Catholic Church and was a loving mother and grandmother. Barbara is survived by her two sons, Theodore Thanasas, husband of Jaclyn, of Massapequa, NY and Aristotle Thanasas, husband of Nicole, also of Massapequa, NY; 2 grandchildren, Lilyana and Nicholas; and 4 siblings: Epifania Negron, Carmen Negron, Juanita Garcia, and Maria Negron. Barbara was preceded by 4 siblings: Wilfredo Negron, Virgen Morales, Petronila Negron, and Juan Negron. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Barbara at 1PM, on Saturday, May 16, 2015, at the San Juan Bautista Catholic Church, 425 S. Duke St., Lancaster, PA 17602, with the Rev. Allan Wolfe as Celebrant. Family and friends will be received at the church one hour prior to Mass. Interment will follow at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery.
