IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Barbara A.
Ostrum
March 9, 2025
Barbara A. Ostrum, 91, of Millersville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at Mount Hope Retirement Community.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Victoria (Keyser) Kirchner.
Barbara was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother. She was a woman of unwavering faith, sacrificial love, and courageous strength. Barb dedicated herself to shaping young minds and hearts as an Assistant Teacher. Teaching young children was not just her profession — it was her passion. Barb often said that when she reached heaven, she would be the one taking care of the babies and children. Barb attended both Grace Community Church of Willow Street and Millersville Community UMC. Her life was a testament to her devotion to Jesus, and she lived her faith through acts of kindness and selflessness. In her 50s, after her children were grown, Barb achieved one of her lifelong dreams of completing her GED and going to college to earn her Associate's Degree and teach children. — a remarkable accomplishment that showcased her determination. Family was everything to Barb. She was the heart of her family, offering endless love, prayers, guidance, and support. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Roy Ostrum, Edward (Elaine) Ostrum, and Kathleen (Tom) Rogers; her siblings, Richard (Irene) Kirchner and Victoria Israel; her grandchildren, Katie Kreiser, Jason (Beth) Ostrum, Roxanne (Bob) Lee, and Lindsey (Justin) Ulmer; and great-grandchildren, Dakoda Lee, Charles Lee, Hazel Ulmer, Luke Ulmer, and Miles Ostrum.
