Barbara Elyn O'Hara (née Schneider) 93, of Lancaster, PA passed away on August 10, 2023.

Barbara was the widow of Harry Robert (Bob) O'Hara, her high school sweetheart, to whom she had been married 60 years upon his death in 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Florence (Swick) Schneider, her sister Paula Schneider Diefert, and a grandson.

Born in West Orange, NJ, she was raised in Union and Irvington, NJ. During their marriage, she and Bob lived in upstate NY, central NJ, and Fort Pierce FL. She frequently said the 20 years she lived in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ were the best, and it was the place she called "home".

Barbara was an accomplished dancer, having studied ballet and tap in her youth. She worked for Prudential Insurance in Newark, NJ until the birth of her first child. After her youngest child entered school, she began a career in the food service industry, eventually retiring from the Point Pleasant Beach Schools as a cafeteria manager.

Barbara is survived by her six children: Jan O'Hara, Kathleen O'Hara (David Hendel), Susan Wilson (Richard), Kevin O'Hara (Kim), Thomas O'Hara (Lynn), and William O'Hara (Tara). She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Donations in Barbara's memory may be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
