Barbara McAndrews, 80, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy. She was the wife of the late Thomas McAndrews who passed away in 1998. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Beiszer Mayer. Barbara had worked as a buyer for the Sperry-New Holland Corporation for 28 years and then for the Ryder Corporation for 10 years until her retirement. She loved the ocean and had been a board member and volunteered at the Matthew 25 Thrift Shop in Lititz for many years. She was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church. Barbara is survived by her sons: Thomas of Lititz and Scott married to Ginny McAndrews of Ephrata; her granddaughter Stephanie McAndrews, her grandson Steven married to Kathleen McAndrews, and her great grandson John McAndrews. She is also survived by her sister, Catherine married to Dr. Donald Petetti of Philadelphia. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Corey McAndrews, and her brother John Mayer. Friends will be received on Saturday, March 28, 2015 from 9-10AM at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Rd., Lancaster, PA , with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10AM, the Rev. David Danneker as Celebrant. Interment in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in New Holland.
