Barbara M. Kline, 94, of Lititz, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2023. Born in Harrisburg, PA she was the daughter of the late Miriam (Weaver) and John Metzger. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Richard Kline. She was the proud mother to Susan Liberati (wife of Gino Liberati) and David Kline (husband of Kerriann Kline); grandmother to: Matthew Liberati, Jessica Liberati, Nicholas Kline, Anthony Kline and Kristina Marshall. She also left behind 5 great grandchildren.
Barbara graduated from John Harris High School and Lebanon Valley College with a BS in Music Education. She took a break from teaching to become a devoted stay-at- home Mother. Once her children were in school full time, she continued her career by teaching elementary music at the Landisville, Centerville, and Farmdale schools in the Hempfield School District. She loved to share stories around the dinner table of the cute and amusing things her students said.
She was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church where she led the children's choir and attended Bible studies. Upon moving to Luther Acres, she and her husband led a small group Bible study.
Barbara enjoyed gardening as well as traveling, going to classical concerts and musical theater. She loved dogs and had a special place in her heart for their miniature dachshund, Max. Barbara treasured her time playing games and reading to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM at the Grace Lutheran Church, 517 North Queen Street, Lancaster, PA 17603 on June 22, 2024. Family and friends will be received from 10:00 AM until the time of service. There will be a luncheon following the service. Parking is available in the church lot, on nearby streets, and in the North Queen Street Garage at 424 North Queen Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace's Soli Deo Gloria Music Fund.
