Barbara Ann Keyl of Lancaster died on January 13, 2018. She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Rev. Rudolf J. S. Keyl; by her children, Stephen, Deborah, and Timothy; by six grandchildren; and by her brother, Henry F. Hoffmeier, Jr. Barbara was born in Passaic, New Jersey, to Henry F. Hoffmeier, Sr., and Marion Hoffmeier. She was baptized on July 15, 1934 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Clifton, NJ. After studies at Paterson State Teachers College (now William Paterson University), she faithfully accompanied her husband to Lutheran congregations in Angola, New York; Vestal, New York; Groton, Connecticut; and Basking Ridge, New Jersey. In retirement Barbara and Rudy made their home in Winchester, Virginia, and later in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. While she worked professionally in education and retail, her abiding interests were her family, home, and church. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 20, at 11:00 am at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 308 Petersburg Road, Lititz, PA. Friends will be received by the family at the church from 10-11:00am.
