Barbara B. Dixon was welcomed into the gates of Heaven on November 24, 2024, at the age of 96. She was born on January 9, 1928, in Quincy, Massachusetts to Kenneth T. and Winifred D. (Sanderson) Bridgman. She was the loving wife of the late Fred Dixon.

She attended Purdue University and transitioned to Southern State College in Arkansas where she obtained her bachelor's degree in teaching. Teaching came naturally to Barbara where she changed many lives through her 35+ year career teaching mainly science to 7th and 8th graders.

She will be sorely missed by her sons, Robert L. Myers of Houston, TX, and Marcus Dixon, husband of Karen of Huntsville, AL, a son-in-law, Charles E. Smith II of Willow Street, 6 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in passing by her husbands, parents, and a daughter, Sandra J. Smith Myers, in March.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in Barbara's name to the Willow Valley Communities Charitable Foundation .
