Former Lancaster, PA resident Avelino Rivera, passed away April 26, 2020.

Mr. Avelino Rivera, (friends and family called him Jimmy), was born 8/21/1944, in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico to Nicolas Rivera (father) and Luisa Andino (mother).

Avelino aka Jimmy, was a family man. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Jimmy was well known in his community. He was a hard working man and was willing to help anybody.

Jimmy was survived by 2 sons Edgar L. Rivera and Fernado Rivera, and 4 daughters Evelyn Torres, Maria Cruz, Maida Perez, and Yaridia Rivera, and 14 + grandchildren and 10 + Great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Nicolas Rivera his mother, Luisa Andino his 2 son Rafeal and Hector Rivera and his daughter Evelyn Rivera-Galarza

Under the present circumstances no services will be held. We are planing a small service on 8/21/2020 for friends and family to lay his ashes to rest at Mellinger's Cemetery, more details to come.
