Augustine Kobina Apprey, 68, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. Born in Ajumako Techiman, Ghana, he was the son of the late Peter Apprey and Hannah Essiaw. He was married for over 35 years to his beloved wife Awurasi (Baidoo) Apprey.

Augustine, also affectionately remembered as "Kobby", "Captain Slim", and "Mr. Neat", was a man of God. He served as a deacon at New Life Church in Lancaster. He worked in the IT department for Lancaster Theological Seminary for 10 years. He was extremely hardworking and could accomplish whatever he set his mind to. He loved to garden and plant flowers, take walks and enjoy nature, and loved cooking a good meal for his family. His quinoa salad, chili, and recipes will be missed. He is described as strong, loving, compassionate, generous, rational, and intelligent.

In addition to his wife, Augustine is survived by 2 sons: Asa Apprey and Aaron Apprey; his daughter-in-law Kaycie Apprey and grandson Caden Apprey; His sisters: Rebecca, Sandra, Cecelia, and Beatrice Aidoo; nieces Millicent Arhin and El-Kezia Acheampong; as well as many beloved family members. He was predeceased by his brother Kobina Ebow and uncle James Obbeng.

The service will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 11 AM at New Life Church, 1991 Old Philadelphia Pike, Lancaster, PA 17602. The family will be receiving guests beginning at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to New Life Church.
