Obituary

Audrey I. Balmer, 87, of Lititz, was welcomed into her forever home by her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Legend of Lititz. Born in East Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late James and Irene Clair Sensenig. She was the loving wife of Charles M. Balmer Jr. who died in 2020. Audrey was a Lititz native and an active member of the Lititz Moravian Church for over 60 years. She loved the town of Lititz and contributed to helping her neighbors and supporting those in need through her volunteer work at the Church. She was a fervent prayer warrior for her family & faithfully followed the Moravian church prayer lists.

Audrey received her licensed practical nursing degree (LPN) from Lancaster General Hospital in 1958, but her main focus quickly became her family. She was a selfless wife, mother, grandmother and neighbor. Audrey's strong faith and trust in Jesus was the center of her life. Devoted to her family, her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. Always loving & instrumental in her grandchildren's lives whether being a last-minute sitter for a sick child or traveling around the country to watch a grandchild so they could travel with their working mom. Cooking delicious morsels in Nana's Kitchen was routine, with supportive conversation at any hour, Audrey always put her family first.

Audrey was also a formidable competitor on the tennis court, playing into her 80s. She loved the game and shared that love through teaching many of her children & grandchildren how to play. She loved to take her grandchildren to Lititz springs park to feed the ducks and play. She sat on the floor engrossed in play with the grandchildren when they visited. Her love radiated and overflowed making each one know they were special and loved.

Surviving are three children, Tammy Jo wife of Jeff Sterner, Charles "Chuck" husband of Lisa Balmer, Mari Lou Balmer-Millar wife of Jim Millar, grandchildren, Brandon Geib, Carson husband of Jade Geib, Nathan husband of Mariah Balmer, Alyssa wife of Tom Garner, Lacey Balmer, Annie wife of Conner Wilson, Jack and Charlie Millar, Emma Radar, Hannah Gillis as well as her great grandchildren, Sydney Goldman-Geib and Joie Balmer.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Audrey's memorial service at Lititz Moravian Church, 8 Church Square, Lititz, on Friday, February 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church in the Eshbach Parlor.
