Assunta "Miranda" Leto Freeman, 73, of Lititz, PA, passed away on May 17, 2017 at Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA. Born in the Milazzo Village of Sicily, Italy, she was the daughter of Gaetano & Stefana (Leto) Badalato. She was the loving wife of Robert "Bob" A. Freeman, of Lititz and Salisbury, MD. They're wedding anniversary was October 15, 1999. At the age of 15, she came to the United States and resided in Brooklyn, New York where she later graduated from high school. She was an executive assistance to CEO Joseph Steinberg of the Leucadia National Holdings Corporation, New York, New York. She resided in Brooklyn, New York until visiting Lititz. After falling in love with the town, she decided to move there. Miranda was known for her love of the opera, singing opera, art, photography and most importantly her sense of adventure through travel. Her favorite places to travel were the cities in her home country, Rome and Sicily. Through her travels and love of language she was able to fluently speak 7 different languages. Miranda is survived by her husband Bob, her son Jacques Leto, her daughter Francesca Leto and her granddaughter Jacquelyn Leto, all of Lititz, PA; former husband, Peter Leto, of Lititz, PA; brother Peter Badalato and sister-in-law Teresa of Port Orange, FL; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews also of Port Orange, FL. Her brother, Sebastiano Badalato, husband of Concetta, preceded Miranda in death. A viewing will take place from 10 to 11 AM, followed by a funeral service officiated by The Rev. James O'Blaney, on Monday, May 22, 2017 at the Spacht-Snyder Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 127 S. Broad Street, Lititz, PA 17543. Interment will follow at Witness Park Cemetery, Rothsville Road, Lititz, PA 17543. Memorial contributions to the National Cerebral Palsy Foundation, in honor of her daughter at https://donate.cerebralpalsyfoundation.org.
