Obituary

Arlene B. Martin, 91, of Lititz, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, July 25, 2024.

She was the wife of the late Lloyd W. Martin, who passed away in 2005. Born in East Donegal Twp., she was the daughter of the late Allen F. and Barbara Garber Brubaker. She was a 1951 graduate of Manheim Central High School.

Arlene was a homemaker and worked alongside her husband who was the Superintendent of the Millersville Mennonite Children's Home for 5 years. She then worked for 29 years as a cashier at John Herrs Village Market in Millersville. After retiring from there, and moving to Landis Homes, she worked part time at Oregon Dairy.

She was a member of Millersville Mennonite Church and taught Sunday School for various age groups.

Arlene volunteered at Landis Homes, and always had a joyful heart, sharing songs as she went about the Campus. Arlene was known for handing out ice cream treats and candy to the maintenance staff, and other staff at Landis Homes. She always had a bowl of candy outside her door for anyone walking past to enjoy.

She loved her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren dearly, and delighted in spending time with family. They shared many fun times camping at Camp Swatara and vacationing together at the Chesapeake Bay, often singing silly songs and making up crazy skits!

She is survived by daughters: Linda J. married to Nelson Boll of Lititz, Carol A. married to Gerald Musser of Ephrata, and Doris S. married to Lester Cline of Lititz; 9 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and a sister, Doris Horst of Lititz. She was preceded in death in 2011 by her great grandson, Conner M. Holland, and by her siblings: J. Vernon, Robert, James and Laura Brubaker, Ruth Weidman, and Lois Boll.

Arlene's family would like to express their gratitude for the compassionate and loving care provided over the years by the staff at Landis Homes, specifically the staff of Lititz and Lancaster Houses.

Services are private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent, in Arlene's memory, to the Caring Fund at Landis Homes 1001 East Oregon Rd., Lititz, PA 17543.
