Arlene J. Groff, 90, of Strasburg, passed away at Lancaster General Hospital on Monday, March 30, 2020. She was born in Strasburg Township to the late D. Clarence and Maude E. (Mowrer) Rineer. Arlene's husband Harry C. Groff died in 1984.

A graduate of the former Strasburg High School, she had been a Library aide at Strasburg Elementary and Hans Herr Elementary School for Lampeter-Strasburg School District.

Known as the Leaf Lady, Arlene painted Santa Claus faces on leaves for craft shows. She previously was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Strasburg.

Surviving Arlene are her son Joey D. Groff, with whom she lived; three grandsons, Curtis Groff, husband of Michele, Travis Groff, husband of Nicole, and Austin Groff; and four great-grandchildren. The last of eight children, Arlene was preceded in death by her siblings, Ethel Hess, Mildred Rineer, Jane Groff, Helen Singer, Parke Rineer, Clarence "Dick" Rineer and Clifford Rineer.

Private interment took place beside her husband Harry in Strasburg Mennonite Cemetery.
