Araminta Fernandez-Collazo, 83, of Lancaster, died on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 in her residence.

Born in Puerto Rico, she was the wife of the late Pablo Robles, and the daughter of the late Ignacio and Ermelinda Collazo.

A woman of strength and caring, she took great pride in helping others.

Araminta was a member of Cristo luz de Salvacion, Lancaster.

She is survived by seven daughters: Sixta Fuentes, Iraida Rodriguez, Ermelinda Robles, Bethzaida and Noelia Padilla, and Maribel Robles, all of Lancaster, and Arminda Robles of Puerto Rico; one son, Carlos Tirado of CT; 23 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Angel Luis Carrera.

Funeral services will be held at 10 am Friday, October 11, 2013 at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St., Lancaster with Pastor Jose A. Arce officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at the funeral home, and again one hour prior to the service on Friday. Burial will be in Conestoga Memorial Park.
