Obituary

Anthony J. Vallat, 50, of Philadelphia passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 25, 2017. Born in Long Island, New York he was the son of the late, Bruce R. and Louise M. (DeRiggi) Vallat. Born and raised in New York, he attended Hewlett High School in Hewlett, New York and later attended New York Technical Institute. After graduating he went on to become a stock broker. Later he moved to Pennsylvania where he became a familiar face to many as a butcher at Weis Markets and Giant Food Stores in the Gap and Lancaster areas. He will be remembered as a New York sports fan through and through. He was always found rooting for his home teams, the New York Giants and New York Yankees. He enjoyed vacations and spending times with his family at the beach and Disney parks. He was also fond of playing mini golf, pool and bowling. He is survived by his son Anthony "TJ" Vallat, Jr. of Mountville, his sister Deborah M. Seeger, wife of Donald R. of Parkesburg, a nephew, Ryan J. Seeger also of Parkesburg, his godmother, Marie O'Neill, of Staten Island, NY and his cousins, Anthony & Christine Pallone. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church at 501 E. Orange St. Lancaster, on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 11:00 AM, with The Rev. Daniel O'Brien as Celebrant. Tony's Last Ride will be on Snyder's Harley Hearse to their Lititz Pike Crematory.
