“Dudie” Hunter, Jr.

Dudie Hunter, 26, of Lancaster City, received a set of wings on Saturday, December 5, 2015. He was born in Lancaster and was the son of Lynn Broadnax-Tucker and Anthony C. Hunter, Sr. and stepson of Archie Tucker. Dudie is survived by his wife Ashily Hughes. He leaves behind two beautiful daughters, Aiera and Aziya Hunter and was expecting a son, Anthony Amelian Hunter, a brother, Avonte Lowery, of Lancaster, a maternal grandfather, Wallace Broadnax, of Colorado Springs, CO and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and a mother-in-law, Beverly R. Hughes, of Lancaster. Preceded in death, maternal grandmother, Bernice Broadnax, paternal grandparents, Joseph and Amelia Hunter. A graduate of J.P. McCaskey H.S. in 2007, he was most known for his basketball skills. He assisted the team in their winnings and to three championships. His outgoing personality and "This is how we do this" attitude on the courts always led to a win. He was well known to everyone for his kindness and gentleman-like mannerisms. A lovable guy and a true family man, he loved his children and wife, and was a prime example of what a big brother should be. He always encouraged his friends to follow their dreams. Everyone loved him because of his big heart and genuine nature. Home Going Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 11AM at Brightside Baptist Church, 515 Hershey Ave, Lancaster, PA 17603 with The Rev. Carmen Morales officiating. A viewing will be held on Friday at the church from 9-11AM. Interment will be in Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery.
