Obituary

Anne Louise Moran, of Kennerdell, died peacefully on Friday, August 17th surrounded by her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, teacher and friend. A woman who influenced many with her kind and caring nature, she had a beautiful smile and a beautiful soul.

Born July 25, 1948, in Lancaster, PA, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Anne Risse Ziegler. Anne was a graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School and of Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She was an early special education teacher at Polk Center and at Riverview Intermediate Unit #6 for over 35 years, until her retirement in 2008. She enjoyed her work with children and was a wonderful guide to many.

Anne was an active member of St. Joseph Church in Oil City, where she taught CCD classes for many years and was a Eucharistic Minister to the homebound. She had a deep faith, enjoyed helping others, and eagerly volunteered her time.

Gardening, yoga, traveling and spending time with family and friends were things that brought her joy. Anne especially loved spending time with her grand-daughters, with whom she shared a precious bond. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

She is survived by her husband, Walter Andrew Moran, and her two children, Laura Ngo and her husband Quoc-Khanh Ngo of Macungie, PA., and Joseph Moran of Boulder, CO. She is also survived by two grand-daughters, Elaina and Meredith Ngo.

Also surviving are three sisters, Mary Pegan, Catherine Carter, and Jeannie Bosley, and two brothers, Philip Ziegler and Joseph Ziegler. She is survived by her sister-in-law and special friend, Barb Hanna. Anne is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including six Godchildren.

A funeral Mass will be conducted at St. Joseph Church, 35 Pearl Ave, Oil City on Saturday, September 8th at 11 am with Fr. John Miller presiding. Memorials may be made to St. Elizabeth Center, 311 Emerald Street, Oil City.
