Annabel Whitehead, born March 5th, 1948, our beautiful beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend, passed away on April 23, 2024. At the age of 76. Born in Ridgeway, SC. she was the daughter of the late Daniel Woodard and Gracie Woods.
Annabel was a graduate of William Penn Sr. High School in York, PA. She was a long-time bartender, she retired from the Eden Resort, and was also a caretaker for many families and friends. Above all, her family was #1. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren are what her world revolved around. She had the most beautiful smile, was loving, passionate, strong, generous, welcoming, and caring to everyone. Annabel was also gifted at making gorgeous jewelry, enjoyed sewing, and cooking soul food that everyone loved.
She leaves the following to cherish her memory : Patrick A. Woodard, Tyrone D. Polite (Jamie), Tonya S. Miller (Dennis), Paulette Tyler (Laquann), Chelsea A. Stewart (Tyswan), George D. Whitehead, James Devon Whitehead, and Shanea M. Whitehead; 17 grandchildren: Kia, Trayvon, Alondra, Ra-Yana, Raymond, Dymere, Camari, Mikayla, Josh, Jhison, Hosea, Silas, Avonne, Adalyn, A'hya, Skye, Cali, and Jamonica; 6 great-grandchildren: Azar'i, Sa'nya, Jamal, Na'zil, Ilyas-Mufasá, and Lenox; and brother Daniel V. Woodard. Along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Tina Woodard, and 8 siblings: Maurice, Gloria, Eliza, Frank, Walter, Henrietta, Frances, and Stephanie.
Family and friends are invited to gather from 10 AM – 12 PM on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA 17584. The service will begin at 12 PM. Interment will immediately follow at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery. Flowers are cordially accepted, and donations in Annabel's memory can be made to American Kidney Fund, kidneyfund.org/ways-give.
With a final wave goodbye, she will be missed tremendously. We love you Mother!!
