IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anna Kroiss
Reynolds
May 9, 1926 – September 21, 2024
On Saturday, September 21, Anna Mary (Kroiss) Reynolds, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at the impressive age of 98. Born in Innernzell, Bavaria in 1926, Anna came to this country at the age of 5. It was here, in Lancaster, where she would make her home for the next 93 years.
The Lancaster Liederkranz would become a big part of Anna's life as she started "going to the club" with her parents at a young age. In her early teens, through her mid-20s, she loved to dance and sing at the club. She went to her first New Year's dance at the age of 16 and subsequently attended the next 68. Anna was an active member of the club's chorus from 1949-2015. The club was the center of Anna's social life, as it was there, on the dance floor, that she would meet her future husband, Kenneth I. Reynolds. She was smitten instantly, not only was he handsome, but he could dance!
Anna and Ken made a life for themselves in Lancaster, raising their four daughters, Linda, Lisa, Lori and Kelli. Anna was a master seamstress, employed by Watt & Shand, serving many of the store's most prestigious clients, specializing bridal alterations.
A devout Catholic, Anna was a member of Saint Anne's Catholic Church for over 75 years. Rarely would a weekend go by that Anna did not attend mass, her devotion to her faith was evident in all that she did. She will most certainly be reunited in Heaven with those that preceded her in death, namely her parents, John & Fannie Kroiss, her Aunt Bertha and Uncle Morris Kleinhempel, her grandson, Martin Kenny Jr., her husband Ken Reynolds, and her eldest daughter Linda R. Rose.
The stories and memories of her life will live on in her surviving family members, daughters: Lisa R. Nafziger & husband Les of Ephrata, Lori Moyer & husband Ralph of Manheim and Kelli Kulp & husband Bob of Lancaster. Grandchildren: Barton Rose & wife Janice of Lancaster, Jessica R. Shellenberger & husband Pete of Lancaster, Travis Moyer of Manheim, Jackie Phillips & husband Jeremy of Central, North Carolina and Dana Hipszer & husband Myk of Fleetwood. And through her 3 Great Grandchildren: Caelen Rose of Lancaster and Evan & Emma Shellenberger of Lancaster.
Anna will be laid to rest at St. Mary's Cemetery alongside her beloved family members. The service honoring her life will take place on October 9, 2024, at Saint Anne's Parish. Visitation with the family will be from 10:00-11:00 am with 11:00 am mass to follow.
Memorial gifts can be made in Anna's honor to Saint John Neuman School, 601 East Delp Road, Lancaster, PA, 17601.
