Anna Sabatine McDermott, 83, died Saturday March 8 ^th in Chicago IL after a brief illness.

Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Donat and Mary Yecker Sabatine. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and had graduated from Lancaster Catholic High School. After graduation, she attended Catholic University and worked in the World War II effort in Washington DC, where she met her late husband, the late Thomas J. McDermott, Esq., who died in 1977.

After his death, she moved to Sarasota, FL where the family has many fond memories.

Anna is survived by her 2 daughters: Leone McDermott of Chicago, and Joan married to E. Joseph Griffin, Jr. of Gaithersburg, MD; two grandchildren, Andrew and Julie, and her brother and sisters, Joseph Sabatine, Grace Mellinger, and Agnes Meyer. Her deceased brothers and sisters are Fabian, Paul, Leo, Donat and Margaret Williams.

Friends will be received on Saturday from 830-930AM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA, with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10AM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 501 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA, with the Rev Daniel Mitzel as Celebrant. Interment in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in the memory to Rainbow Hospice, 444 N. Northwest Hwy., Suite 145, Park Ridge, IL 60068.
