The contagious smile, infectious laugh, and selflessness of Andrew "AJ" Torres, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. He was welcomed into the arms of his loving family on April 15, 1996.
AJ was loved by many for his generous spirit and constant drive to help others. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. In recent years he rediscovered his spirituality which deepened his altruistic nature. He enjoyed cutting others' hair, to boost their self-confidence and most importantly, he will be remembered for his compassion just days before his passing. While working at Lomax Carpet & Tile Mart in Downingtown, he witnessed a man experiencing a medical emergency and jumped in to perform CPR and save his life.
His family treasures the memories they spent with AJ including fishing, joking & laughing, watching movies, getting tattoos, and admiring classic cars. He was loved by so many and will be missed by all who were touched by his spirit.
AJ will be missed by his mothers, Izza Torres, wife of Rhonda I. Carroll of Downingtown; his father, Andres Torres Rivera of Lancaster, husband of Damarys Mendez Rosado; siblings, Elliot M. Olmeda Torres, husband of Sonia of Lancaster, Luis A. Olmeda, husband of Julia E. Baker of Wrightsville, and Victoria Torres of Mountville; nieces and nephews, Andre, Julius, Xavier, Anjaly, and Evelyn; maternal grandparents, Luis C., and Carmen M. Torres of Neffsville; paternal grandmother, Antonia Rivera; uncles, Victor A. Torres, Luis Torres, Jr. and Victor Torres; as well as a host of cousins and extended family. He was preceded in passing by his paternal grandfather, Mario Torres.
The family is welcoming guests to a viewing on Saturday, June 24, 2023, from 3 PM – 6 PM, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Memorial contributions in AJ's name may be made to The Mighty Mehal Foundation.
