IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Andrea (Garvey)
Fogelberg
December 31, 2025
Andrea (Garvey) Fogelberg, 67, our beloved wife, Mother, and Gigi passed peacefully on New Year's Eve, 2025. She was a lifelong resident of Lancaster and a proud graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School. She passed away surrounded by love, leaving behind a family and friends forever impacted by her presence.
Andrea was strong. She survived a bleak brain cancer diagnosis and faced the years that followed with resilience and determination. After fighting the long aftereffects and the passage of time, she is now at rest.
A true Cancerian in every sense, Andrea centered her life around home and family. Intuitive and nurturing, she had a true gift for making a house feel like a home. She was a wonderful homemaker and a loving mother to her two daughters, a role she held closest to her heart. She found joy in tending her garden, crafting, and sewing; all of which were extensions of her love.
As the eldest daughter, Andrea carried a quiet sense of responsibility and protection for those she loved. That same instinct made her a deeply trusted confidant—someone you could tell anything to, without judgment. People felt accepted just as they were in her presence, knowing they were safe, understood, and cared for.
She is survived by her beloved husband Kurt, whose companionship and love meant the world to her. Additionally, she is survived by her two daughters, Kate Wolosyn (Edward) and Rachel Butler Cook (Colin); four stepchildren, Eric Fogelberg, Mark Fogelberg (Shannon), Serena Wray (Jeremy), and Kendra Fogelberg (Rich); and her cherished grandchildren, who brought her immense joy. She is also survived by her four siblings; Patrick Garvey, Laura Garvey-Maul, John Garvey, and Eileen Sperry, many nieces and nephews, and her mother, Barbara F. Albright whom she shared a lifelong bond.
Andrea was preceded in death by her father, Jack Garvey and her nephew, Lyle Garvey.
She will be remembered as tall and beautiful-inside and out- with a presence that filled a room. She always fought for what she believed in and carried herself with confidence and conviction. Her creativity lives on through her daughter Katie, who inherited her love for crafting, while Rachel carries forward her confidence and her love of music. Andrea had a joyful, spontaneous spirit and was known to break out in song at random moments, leaving those around her smiling, laughing, and feeling more alive. "Don't be a stranger!" She'd say with a smile.
Friends will be received from 10-11 AM with a Memorial Service to begin at 11 AM on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St, Lancaster, PA 17602. Contributions may be made in Andrea's memory to ORCA, 401 E. Orange St, Lancaster, PA 17602 or www.orcarescue.org .
