IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Andrã© N.
Hanna
October 17, 2008
Dr. André N. Hanna, 70, of Lancaster, PA went home to be with the Lord on October 17, 2008.
André was born to the late Naguib and Fadwa Hanna on June 27 th 1938 in Aley, Lebanon. He was married to his beloved wife Mary Hanna for 42 years this past September.
Dr. Hanna practiced as a surgeon while living in the Middle East. André and Mary came to America in January of 1970 to pursue a better life for their family. The family moved to Danville, IL in 1974 where Dr. Hanna took the position of head of Anesthesia and Respiratory Care Departments. He served the community in this capacity for nearly 25 years, committing to "always keep the patient first." Constantly seeking ways to further his excellence as a physician, Dr. Hanna was recognized as a Fellow of American College of Chest Physicians and a diplomate of the American College of Health Care Executives. He also established a pain clinic, belonged to numerous medical societies, served as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Illinois School of Medicine, as well as participated in several civil and community activities. Dr. Hanna retired after a busy and successful career to spend more time with his family and "pursue a nobler cause." His heart's desire was to pass on the many blessings he had received from the Lord. In the past several years he served as the president of Believers Bookshelf, USA, a charitable Christian literature publishing entity.
André and Mary moved to Lancaster, PA in July 2008 to be closer to their children.
André was preceded in death by his parents Naguib and Fadwa Hanna. He is survived by his dearly loved wife, Mary Hanna, son, Philip Hanna, husband of Virginia Hanna, daughter, Christine Hanna, granddaughter Bethany Hanna, two sisters Marguerite (late Maurice Bassali) and Evette (Youssef Riad), one brother, Samuel Hanna, an uncle, numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
