Alvah Chase, 75, of Lititz died Friday night at the Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center in Lititz. Born in Astoria New York, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Anne Wareham Chase. Alvah was the husband of Mary Pickford Chase and they were married for 53 years.
Mr. Chase worked for New York City, LU 731 in construction and demolition. He liked working with his hand and volunteered his time and talents to different organizations. He served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict.
His hobbies included traveling, jigsaw puzzles, music and woodworking crafts which he shared with family and friends.
Surviving besides his wife, Mary are two sons; Paul husband of Maria Chase, Kenneth Chase both of Lititz, a daughter, Lori wife of Henry Mogk of Neffsville, eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, three brothers and two sisters.
Services will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home and Chapel, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA. on Monday, Nov.12, 2007 at 11:00AM. Friends may pay their respects to the family at the funeral home on Monday from 10-11:00AM and on Sunday night, Nov 11, 2007 from 6:00-8:00PM. Contributions may be made in Alvah's memory to the Humane League of Lancaster County, 2195 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster 17602.
