Alterio Moccia, 87, of Lancaster, PA died suddenly Monday, October 28, 2013 in his residence.

Born in Avellino, Italy, he was the husband of the late Nellie (Petrucelli) Moccia and the son of the late Geraldo and Pasqualina (Sozio) Moccia.

He was a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, Lancaster.

Alterio was a member of the Italian Club and volunteered at the Health Campus. He also enjoyed bowling in a senior league.

He is survived by a daughter, Linda Rasmuson and her husband Ed of Lancaster; three grandchildren: Gregory, Brent, and Alaina Rasmuson; two brothers: Vincenzo Moccia of Italy and Rafaele Moccia of Venezuela; and two sisters, Rosa Sole and Amalia Politano, both of Italy. He was preceded in death by a son, Vincent Moccia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Thursday, October 31, 2013 at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 2427 Marietta Ave., Lancaster PA with the Rev. Peter I. Hahn as Celebrant. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 PM Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA. A Christian Prayer Service will begin at 7:50 PM. Burial will be at 1:00 PM Monday, November 4, 2013 at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 52 Totowa Rd., Totowa, NJ.
