Alma L. Newcomer, 81, passed away Sunday morning, June 11, 2006, at the Mennonite Home, Lancaster, PA.

Born in Carencro, Louisiana, she was the wife of Leo L. Newcomer, Jr. of Media, PA, who died in 1996.

Mrs. Newcomer was a Navy WAVE during WWII time. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker.

Surviving her are three children: Shirley A., married to Jay Joyce, of Cincinnati, Ohio; Leo L. Newcomer III, married to Holly A. Horton, of Lititz; and Sharon L., married to Tom Jones, of Media, PA; 5 Grandchildren, Christine M. Joyce currently at Fort Hood, Texas,  David A. and Steven J. Newcomer, and T.J. and Dan Jones. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Richard M. Joyce.

Alma's endearing personality, gentle heart, and quick smile will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 440 St. Joseph Street, Lancaster, on Thursday, June 15, 2006,  at 1:30 PM. Interment will be held privately at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Flowers may be sent to the Charles F.
