Alfred J. "Al" Marsch, 94, of Bethany Village, Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away on June 8, 2017. Born in Albany, New York, Al was the son of the late Alfred Theodore and Theresa Veronica (Kinsella) Marsch. Al was a veteran of World War II, having served in Italy. Following his honorable discharge, he was employed at the Albany Engineering Depot of Albany, NY and the Schenectady Army Depot. Al became the first director of Quality Assurance for the US Army and was stationed at the New Cumberland Army Depot, where he retired after 37 years of service in the United States government, in 1979. Al was a skilled woodworker and fisherman. He was very proud of the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren, academically, militarily, and professionally. Al is survived by his daughters, Bonita "Bonnie" Dini of Mount Joy, PA and Nancy Ann Bialkowski, of Eynon, PA; and a son Daniel "Danny" Marsch of Stockton Springs, ME. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and his sister, Delores Smith. Funeral services and private interment with military honors will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
