Alexander Charles Renz 25, passed away peacefully with family and friends at his side on Saturday, December 9th, 2017. Al was born in Columbus, Ohio on April 26, 1992, and was raised in Lancaster PA. He graduated Manheim Township High School in 2010, Gettysburg College in 2014, and was a third-year medical student at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, class of 2019. He was a member of the St. John Neumann Parish. Al had many interests: he loved golfing and skiing, he loved watching football, going to the beach and hanging out with friends. He enjoyed learning and celebrating life. Above all, he loved his family and his friends. Al will always be remembered as outgoing, witty and fun to be around. Al is preceded in death by his grandparents Al and Anne Renz and Thomas and Bernadette McNamara. Al is survived by a large and loving family. He will be forever remembered by his loving parents Dr. Thomas J. Renz and Bernadette M. Renz, his older brother John, his sister-in-law Tiffany, his younger sister Cassie and his niece Ella. He will be dearly missed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and loving friends. Thank you to all who came to visit Al when he was in the hospital! Friends will be received by Al's family at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA on Saturday, Dec. 16th from 5-7PM and Sunday, Dec. 17th from 1-4PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 18, 2017 at 10AM at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Road, Lancaster, PA. Interment will follow in Witness Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Al's memory may be made to the Ephrata Community Health Foundation , 722 West Main Street, Ephrata, PA 17522 or at ( www.wellspan.org/donate ).
