Albert M. Sulik, 88, of Landisville, formerly of Philadelphia, passed away Friday, November 2, 2007, at Essa Flory Hospice Center. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Stephan and Rose Sulik. He was the husband of Stella M. Sulik, with whom he celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on February 2, 2007.
Al retired from the Budd Company in Philadelphia as Die Tryout Machinist.
Albert was a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Army he held the rank of corporal as an aerial gunner in the U.S. Army air corps.
Al was a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church and a former member of St. Jerome Catholic Church located in North East Philadelphia. Al loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was avid Philadelphia sports fan. His interests include bowling and fishing and was a member of several different bowling leagues. He was also a member of the United Auto Workers of America.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Carol A Kline, wife of Scott C., of Landisville; a daughter in law, Florence Sulik, of Bomoseen, Vt; 5 grandchildren: CHristine, Brad, Stephanie, Greg and Jenna; 4 great grandchildren: Ethan, Emily, Justin and Kaitlin. One sister, Leona Gabrielaitis, of Philadelphia.
Albert was preceded in death by a son, Alan S. Sulik; two brothers, Frank and Fred Sulik; and a sister, Wanda Melnick.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 2427 Marietta Ave., Rohrerstown on Wednesday November 7, 2007 at 10 AM. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, at 2 PM. There will be a public viewing Tuesday night, November 6 from 6-8 pm at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 441 N. George St., Millersville. A Christian Prayer Service will be held Tuesday night at 8 PM. A second viewing will be held at St. Leo's Wednesday from 9:30 to 10 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Dr., Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.
